Es.Es.See

Class officially starts today for Year 3! Last week don't count, because they were only introductory lectures. In third year, we have clinicals where we will be thrown all over North Ireland in a series of postings and then the "to-end-it-with-a-Bang!" exam in June! But to kick start the year, we have what we call the SSC (es.es.see), which is short for Student Selected Components. This is the time where the 266 students in Year 3 get separated into 40 topics in a 3-week module and have different tasks to do. Not so for the IMU students, because we only get to choose from 4, highly suspected leftovers, and we're all scattered around.

In case you were wondering why are there pharmacology books present in my pile of textbooks, well it's because yours truly chose a topic that has something to o with it. And it is none other than Neuropsychopharmacology! What a mouth-full!

Well, it's not that bad. It's mainly the mechanism of action of anti-psychotic drugs, especially in Schizophrenia, Depression and Mania. Kinda wished I'd pay more attention in YPN's lecture last time. Well, I chose a module without an exam, but there's critical appraisal to do, and an oral presentation.

Oh, and my lecturer sounds like Severus Snape, while looking double his size! But he's the very-much-nicer version of Snape.
