1 week...

I've been back from Malaysia for 1 week already. Woke up from a 2-month long dream and ended up here, halfway around the world, after travelling for 24 hours. Don't remind me of the horror of transit flights.

4th year is a horror as well, a hectic horror. Full days everyday. It's really 180 degrees from the happy-go-lucky third year. And I'm starting with the busiest block of the year. That's life...

So what have I learned in 1 week?
1) Inserting IV cannulae.
2) Suturing is fun! Want to buy a chicken and practice at home.
3) Inserting ETTs is a terrible thing! Especially when you have to jam it into the patients airway a few times just to get in correctly in.
4) I know when to shock a patient.
5) I know when to flood the patient's blood with Adrenaline if I don't get to shock them.
6) I know that I got a choice of not to doing mouth-to-mouth in CPR.
7) I passed ILS.
8) I cannot sit for a full day of class, even if i consume barrels of caffeine.
9) Formalin really really really stings the eye!
10) It is much more fun to learn anatomy from preserved bodies.
11) I still dislike pharmacology.
12) Psychologists actually analyse how people draw pigs for personality tests. And it's quite accurate. Refer to Jeng Haw who is doing psychology now.
13) My stamina is bloody depleted! I died after running a short distance.
14) I've gotten used to the sedentery lifestyle in Malaysia after 2 months... walking is now a hastle...

So for the next 6 weeks, I just need to practise (1) - (7) on REAL patients, and I'm on my way to becoming a real doctor/murderer. XD The rest are just random ramblings that I have to get over myself... ;P Next question is, do I have enough time to keep this blog updated? I guess time will tell...
